Our Story:

Toyako was born in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, in year 1995.

Founder Tommy Leong started this tiny little hair salon with his partner Ben Lim, and called Cutting Design. Their mission to have a salon to create a trend & change the hairstyle shop. The passion of these make them to enhance the 2nd & till 7 branch today. The name of “Toyako” have born was originally conceived from a famous Hokkaido’s lake. It bring people for confidence and peace of mind without our salon.

Bearing the concept of T.I.P.S. we hope to create new trend together with all of you.

2005

Founder in 2005, Toyako Academy went from humbie space on the rooftop of the Johor Jaya lot to a 2500sqf Austin V Square today. Its remarable growth and success came from none other than Tommy Leong.

Founder and Chef Creative Director of Toyoka group of Salons and Academy. Thanks to his vision and mommitment, we have taken the lead to become the industry leader in Hairdressing Education.

2019

Collaboration with Masdea & University for certified in Pro Cert and Prof Diploma to our students.

At Toyako, we use Helen Seward products straight from Milan, known for their high-quality hair care. Since 1969, Helen Seward has been all about blending nature and technology to create amazing hair treatments, colors, and styling tools.
